DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS
TO FILL CABLE COMMUNICATIONS
ADVISORY COMMITTEE VACANCIES For Immediate Release (August 5, 1997)

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill six vacancies on the
Cable Communications Advisory Committee. One additional position is to be filled by a
representative of the City of Rockville. Five members are eligible to apply for reappointment.
The Committee advises the County Executive and Council on implementation of the
franchise agreement between the County government and Cable TV Montgomery. It also
advises on the use of funds provided by the cable operator to support local television
programming and other cable related activities.
Meetings are held the third Tuesday evening of each month in Rockville. Members
serve three-year terms without compensation. Individuals selected for appointment must file
financial disclosure statements.
Applicants should write by September 12 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at
the Executive Office Building, l0l Monroe St., Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume
including home and work phone numbers should be enclosed. Members of County boards,
committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.
Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council.
Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation
