COMMUNITY MEETINGS TO 
BE HELD TO UPDATE CITIZENS
ON NEW DETENTION CENTER       For Immediate Release: August 27, 1997


     In an effort to update citizens in the Clarksburg and Boyds communities about the
design progress of the new detention center, three public meetings will be held during the
month of September.
     The first meeting will be held on September 3 at 7 p.m. at the Clarksburg Recreation
Center.  Subsequent meetings will be held on September 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Upcounty
Regional Services Center, and September 25 at 5 p.m. in the lobby auditorium of the
Executive Office Building in Rockville.  The last meeting will be conducted as part of  the
Criminal Justice Coordinating Commission's regularly scheduled meeting.     
     The purpose of the meetings is to inform citizens about current designed plans and to
seek community input into the design and construction process.
