RIDE ON SERVICE CHANGES SET;
NEW EXPRESS SERVICE ON I-270 For Immediate Release: August 28, 1997
Montgomery County's Ride On bus system will make service changes on many of its
routes, effective September 7. A highlight of this service change is the introduction of Route
70, a new rush hour express service, which will originate in the morning from Germantown's
Milestone Park 'N Ride lot and travel along the I-270 HOV lane, prior to stops at the
National Naval Medical Center, the Medical Center Metrorail Station, the National Institutes
of Health and Suburban Hospital.
Ride On routes with schedule changes of up to five minutes include routes 1, 20, 30,
37, 43, 46, 47, 48, 54 through 65, 71 through 75, 77 and 90. Routes with schedule changes
of more than five minutes on weekdays include 37, 43, 54, 55, 58, 61, 62 and 64. On
weekends, Route 46 will extend several of its trips to leave from or end at the Shady Grove
Metrorail Station.
Free copies of timetables for all Ride On routes, or additional information, may be
obtained by calling the County's Transit Information Center at 301-217-7433 (touchtone);
301-217-6434 (pulse/rotary); 301-217-2222 (TDD/TTY). A toll free number to the center is
1-800-732-3327. In addition, Ride On schedules are updated and available online by logging

Ride On service adjustments are made three times a year -- in January, May and
September -- to improve the bus system's overall efficiency.
