DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS
FOR TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION
LOAN/GRANT COMMITTEE For Immediate Release: September 22, 1997
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill a partial-term
vacancy on the Technology Innovation Fund Loan/Grant Committee. The term of the
position expires in June 1998. Applicants must not be affiliated with any of the tax-supported
County agencies or potential technology service providers.
The Technology Innovation Fund Committee advises the County Executive on
technology applications submitted from County agencies for funding under the Technology
Innovation Fund; it reviews technology and productivity applications, evaluates such projects
and provides advice and recommendations to the County Executive regarding approval or
disapproval of such projects.
This seven-member committee includes representatives of each of the tax supported
agencies (Montgomery County Government, Montgomery County Public Schools, Housing
Opportunities Commission, Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission,
Montgomery College and the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission). Members
generally serve two-year terms with no compensation. Committee meetings are scheduled
based on the need to review projects.
Interested individuals should write by October 10 to County Executive Douglas M.
Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief
resume, including home and work phone numbers, should be enclosed. Members of County
boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.
Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council.
Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation
process.
