OSTEOPATHIC ASSOCIATION, INSURANCE
BROKERAGE FIRM AMONG COUNTY'S
NEWEST BUSINESS ATTRACTIONS        For Immediate Release:  Febraury 4, 1997



     Montgomery County Executive Douglas M. Duncan and County Council President
Marilyn J. Praisner today hailed the County's recruitment of a national health care association
and an Alexandria, Va.-based insurance brokerage and administration firm as "continued
momentum for Montgomery County's resurgence, in terms of economic development and
business attraction."
     "Montgomery County truly is becoming the community of choice for business and the
addition of this prominent association and association service company is further evidence of
that fact," said Duncan.  "The County is home to more than 250 national  professional and
trade associations.  We're very pleased to welcome the American Osteopathic Healthcare
Association and JZA, Inc. to our association community."
     "We are pleased to welcome these two important new members of our business
community," said Praisner.  "These are two more success stories for the programs and
policies we have put in place to promote economic development and bring new jobs to our
County."

osteopathic medical professional organizations -- moved last week from the District of
Columbia to new offices at 5550 Friendship Boulevard, Suite 300, Chevy Chase.  A group of
10 other associations and specialty colleges within the osteopathic profession is co-located
with the AOHA at the new headquarters, including the American Association of Colleges of
Osteopathic Medicine, which moved from its main office in Rockville to join AOHA in
Chevy Chase.   Total staff for the various organizations is 36.  The associations are leasing
20,000 square feet, 5,000 of which will be marketed and sub-leased to additional associations
and professional societies.
     "We're delighted to be bringing the nation's largest concentration of osteopathic
healthcare organizations to Montgomery County," said AOHA President and Chief Executive
Officer David Kushner, CAE, CMP.  "The County has been very proactive in its efforts to
recruit and retain association residents.  We're looking forward to forging new relationships
with County agencies and with other associations in the area."
     JZA, Inc., a full-service insurance broker and third-party administrator specializing in
the needs of associations, has moved from Alexandria, Va. to Bethesda, at 5272 River Road. 
Founded in 1954 and incorporated in 1969, JZA handles insurance and retirement programs
for more than 400 associations.  Currently, it has 17 employees.  JZA is leasing 6,000 square
feet of space for its new headquarters.  "We are delighted to join the Montgomery County
business community, and appreciate the services that made it easy for us to move from
Alexandria to our new location," said JZA President P. Allen Haney.

     "As the co-chairman of the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives' 
Maryland Government Affairs Subcommittee and a long-time resident of Bethesda, I am
delighted with the strong outreach effort of the County government to attract both trade and
