VOLUNTEER TUTORS AND          For Immediate Release (November 14, 1997)
INSTRUCTORS NEEDED


     The Interagency Coordinating Board is seeking volunteer tutors and instructors for
after-school programs at selected middle schools.  Volunteers are needed at Col. E. Brooke
Lee, Eastern and Takoma Park Middle Schools.  (Takoma Park is currently housed at the
Tilden Center.)  These schools are participating in a pilot after-school program which is
staffed by volunteers.
     Tutors are needed for reading, math and science.  Volunteers are also needed to lead
group activities.
     Volunteers are asked to commit to one and one-half hours per week, 2:30-4 p.m., for
an eight-week period.  Orientation is provided.  All ages, high school sophomores through
senior adults, are encouraged to respond.
