THANKSGIVING DAY                 For Immediate Release: November 19, 1997

     Montgomery County government will observe the following holiday schedule for
Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 27:

     County Offices  -- closed
     Libraries -- closed 
     County liquor stores -- closed

     Ride-On -- Sunday schedule  

     Metrobus -- Sunday schedule 
              
     Metrorail -- Sunday schedule 

     Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters -- free

     Trash -- no collection

     Transfer Station -- closed

     MCPS Administrative Offices -- closed Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28

     Housing Opportunities Commission -- closed 

     State offices & courts -- closed
