GUIDE TO PERMITTING
SERVICES NOW AVAILABLE For Immediate Release: November 28, 1997

A guide to assist individuals and builders with the County's development and building
permitting processes is now available from Montgomery County's Department of Permitting
Services (DPS). The 128-page manual, "A Guide to Permitting Services," can be purchased
for $30 at DPS offices, or may be ordered by mail at $35 per copy.
The manual contains nine chapters, with topics that include general information,
roadways, water resources, well and septic, zoning requirements, building construction,
inspections, licenses and checklists. Packaged in a three-ring binder, the manual also offers a
detailed listing of telephone contacts for information on specific topics.
"We believe our customers will find this manual very valuable in preparing
applications and other materials," said DPS Director Robert Hubbard. "It offers a good
overview of the processes involved in dealing with our various services, as well as helpful
information to help avoid timely and costly delays during the permitting process."
The manual is available at DPS offices, 250 Hungerford Drive, 2nd floor, Rockville,
MD 20850, or by calling Edie Williamson at 301-217-6299. Checks should be made payable
to the Department of Permitting Services.
