DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS TO FILL
VACANCIES ON STRATHMORE HALL
FOUNDATION BOARD 0F DIRECTORS          For Immediate Release (Feb. 18, 1997)

     County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill two
vacancies on the Strathmore Hall Foundation Board of Directors.  Both
incumbents are eligible to apply for reappointment.  The purpose of the Board
is to foster and support the development of the Strathmore Hall Arts Center
for promoting and encouraging participation in and appreciation of the
performing, literary and visual arts.
     Members serve three-year terms without compensation and meet from 9 -
10:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of alternating months at Strathmore Hall.
     Applicants should write by March 17 to County Executive Douglas M.
Duncan at the Executive Office Building, l0l Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 
20850.  A brief resume including both home and work phone numbers should be
included.  Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve
on more than one such group at a time.
     Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. 
Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the
confirmation process.
