DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS
FOR ENERGY AND AIR QUALITY
ADVISORY COMMITTEE                 For Immediate Release (Feb. 27, 1997)


     County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill eight
vacancies on the Energy and Air Quality Advisory Committee.  Five vacancies
are for three-year terms; three vacancies are for two-year terms. Six
incumbents are eligible to apply for reappointment.  Individuals with either
an air quality or energy background are encouraged to apply.  Applicants must
be Montgomery County residents.
     The l5-member committee advises the County Executive and the County
Council on the development, promotion and implementation of programs to
heighten energy awareness, increase energy efficiency and improve indoor and
outdoor air quality.  Members serve without compensation.  Meetings are held
on the fourth Tuesday of each month in Rockville.
     Applicants should write by April 11 to County Executive Douglas M.
Duncan at the Executive Office Building, l0l Monroe St., Rockville, MD  20850. 
A brief resume, including home and work phone numbers, should be enclosed. 
Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more
than one such group at a time.
     Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. 
Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the
confirmation process.
