INTERNET WEBSITE OFFERS ACCESS
TO RIDE ON AND TRANSIT INFORMATION For Immediate Release: March 7, 1997
Riders of Montgomery County's Ride On bus system can now obtain route and
schedule information via the Internet, by logging on to the Department of Public Works and
Transportation's website at www.dpwt.com (click on "Transit Services").
The website identifies all of Ride On's routes and timetables; up-to-the-minute
information on any delays or detours; and fare and transit information. It also includes an
order form, which can be printed out and mailed in, for those who want to purchase transit
passes, tickets and tokens by mail. Sales outlets for Ride On, Metrorail, Metrobus and
MARC Commuter Rail are also listed and commuters will soon be able to order their fare
media directly through the website.
Other features of the website include a "Special Events and What's New" section;
online versions of various Ride On brochures and promotional materials; and links with other
Montgomery County agencies.
