MID-COUNTY PUBLIC
SCHOOL FORUM SET
FOR MARCH 25                  For Immediate Release: March 17, 1997 


     Montgomery County residents located in the mid-county area are invited to participate
in the first Mid-County Citizens Public School forum on Tuesday, March 25 at Einstein High
School.  The forum, which will begin at 7:15 p.m. in room F104, will include a panel
discussion on topics affecting mid-county school clusters (Kennedy, Rockville, Magruder,
Sherwood, Einstein and Wheaton).
     At the forums, residents will be able to address issues of concern with the panelists,
who include School Board Member Bea Gordon, Director of School Administration Mike
Glascoe, MCPS Chief Financial Officer Larry Bower and two senior level school leaders. 
Members of the Mid-County Citizens Advisory Board will moderate the forum.  Topics are
expected to include funding and scheduling of school construction and renovations, timely
communications, school security, school-based technology, education priorities and specialized
student needs.
     Persons who cannot attend the forum, but wish to submit questions or observations to
the panel, can call 301-217-4904 and leave a voice mail message, or comments can be written

     The forum is sponsored by the Mid-County Citizens Advisory Board, the Montgomery
County School Board and Montgomery County Public Schools.
