PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULED
ON NOISE CONTROL REGULATION
Residents interested in commenting on the regulation of noise from lawn maintenance equipment and other residential sources of noise are invited to attend a public meeting on June 22 at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Services Center, 4805 Edgemoor Lane, Bethesda, beginning at 7 p.m.
Currently, the County's Noise Control Ordinance grants an exemption during daytime hours for sources of noise associated with residential living such as home workshops, power tools and power lawn and garden equipment. Due to the growing number of lawn maintenance services, there have been sufficient noise complaints to prompt the Noise Control Advisory Board to consider further regulations.
The meeting will be the first in a series of meetings to be held throughout the county during the coming months. Residents who are unable to attend the June meeting may submit their views in writing to the Noise Control Advisory Board, Department of Environmental Protection, 255 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20850.
