DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR
WESTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY
CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD For Immediate Release (January 14, 1998)
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill eight vacancies on
the Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board. Three of the vacancies must be
filled by area business representatives and five by area residents -- either homeowners or
renters. Residents of and business people in the of Potomac, Bethesda-Chevy Chase, and
North Bethesda/Garrett Park are especially encouraged to apply, Six incumbents are eligible
to apply for reappointment.
The l5-member board advises the Director of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Services
Center, the County Executive and the County Council on area needs and priorities such as
transportation, human services, environment, public safety, and other issues of local
importance.
Members serve three-year terms without compensation and contribute approximately
six hours each month, attending both daytime and evening board and committee meetings.
Meetings are held the third Monday night of the month.
Applicants should write by February 13 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at
the Executive Office Building, l0l Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume
should be enclosed detailing pertinent experience, interests or club and community group
associations. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on
more than one such group at a time.
Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applicants
of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
