PUBLIC WORKSHOPS SET
ON ROCK CREEK WATERSHED
Residents in the Rock Creek watershed can learn how to help improve the condition of streams in their area by attending one of three Public Workshops on The Rock Creek Watershed Restoration Study to be held in June and July.
The County Department of Environmental Protection is conducting a study to identify opportunities for stream restoration and stormwater runoff control projects within the Rock Creek area.
The workshops will present the objectives of the study, report on findings of stream conditions, identify problems that need to be addressed and announce the types of solutions that are being studied.
Workshops will be presented on:
June 17-- 7:30 - 9 p.m., Audubon Naturalist Society campus at the Woodend Mansion, 8940 Jones Mill Road, Chevy Chase (Kensington area, lower watershed);
June 24 -- 7 - 9 p.m., Parkland Middle School, 4610 West Frankfort Dr., Rockville (Aspen Hill area, middle watershed); and
July 8 -- 7 - 9 p.m., Magruder High School, 5939 Muncaster Mill Road, Rockville (Redland/Olney area, upper watershed).
Sign-in and map displays will be available, beginning at 6:45 p.m. at each workshop.
