FREE SOCK HOP SET IN WHEATON
Oldies and rock 'n roll music, food, and fun will highlight the 3rd Annual Sock Hop to be held in Wheaton on September 19, 1998, from 7:30 to 11 p.m., on the top level of the Amherst Public Parking Garage. The garage is located at Reedie Drive and Amherst Avenue, near the Wheaton Metro Station.
Entertainment, provided by "The 2nd Conspiracy," will include a floor show featuring impersonations of Elvis, The Four Tops, Joe Cocker, Sonny & Cher, Buddy Holly, The Supremes and Billy Preston. The drug- and alcohol-free event is sponsored by the Wheaton Urban District.
The sock hop is free. Food and drinks will be sold by service organizations in the Wheaton area, and picnics and coolers are welcome.
Groups and/or families may reserve tables (seating 8-10). Because the number of tables is limited, reservations should be made early. Local non-profit organizations may also register to sell food or crafts.
To reserve a table or to sign up as a food or craft vendor, call 301-217-8122.
