VOTERS WHO MISS
THE ABSENTEE BALLOT DEADLINE
MAY APPLY FOR EMERGENCY BALLOT
THROUGH SEPTEMBER 15 FOR PRIMARY ELECTION

Voters who miss the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the Primary Election on September 15 may apply for an emergency absentee ballot through election day.

If an emergency situation arises that prevents you from voting in person on primary election day, you may come to the elections office in Rockville for an emergency absentee ballot. The office will be open on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on election day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you cannot come to the elections office in person, you may designate another Montgomery County registered voter as your agent to obtain the application for you. The agent must deliver the application to you and then return the completed application to the elections office in order for you to receive your absentee ballot. The agent then must deliver the ballot to you for voting and return the voted ballot to the elections office no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. In addition, any registered voter who is handicapped or age 65 or older whose polling place is inaccessible may also vote by emergency absentee ballot.

The elections office is located at 751 Twinbrook Parkway in the former Broome Middle School, which is about ½ mile north of Veirs Mill Road.

For further information, call 301/217-6460 on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. or visit the web site at www.co.mo.md.us/services/elections, and click on the link to "Absentee Voting."
