Upcounty Center Hosts
Income Tax Workshops               


     Free tax workshops on how to complete Federal and Maryland income tax forms will
be held at the Upcounty Regional Services Center on a regular basis between February and
April.
     Pre-registration is required, and participants are asked to bring their 1997 tax forms
and last year's (1996) tax submission.
     Daytime sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on February 3 and 10, March 3
and April 7.  Evening workshops will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on February 5 and 19,
March 12 and 26, and April 9 and 14.
     Montgomery County residents who need help completing the 1040 form with
itemization should call the Cooperative Extension Service at 301-590-9638 to schedule an
individual appointment.  The organization provides volunteer counselors who can offer line-
by-line instructions so that participants can fill out the forms themselves.  The Cooperative
Extension Service is a partnership with the University of Maryland system and the
Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services.
