County Seeks Nominations
For Path of Achievement Awards               


     Montgomery County is seeking nominations for a new award that honors older County
residents whose work and spirit have led to special accomplishment in personal and
community endeavors.  The Path of Achievement awards, to be presented on May 18, will
recognize residents in five categories -- Advocacy, Arts & Humanities, Community Service,
Sports & Fitness, and Workplace Contributions.
     Applications for the awards and a description of categories can be obtained by calling
the Montgomery County Volunteer and Community Service Center at 301-217-4949. 
Nominations must be submitted by February 28, and they should include an application form,
description of the nominee's achievements, name of affiliate organization(s) and a letter of
recommendation.  Submissions should be mailed to: The Path of Achievement Awards, c/o
Senior Beacon, P.O. Box 2227, Silver Spring, MD 20915-2227. 
     The Path of Achievement Awards are sponsored by the Senior Beacon newspaper and
Cable TV Montgomery.
