County Youth Groups To
Hold Battle of Bands Event

Montgomery County Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD) will hold its annual Under-21 Battle of the Bands concert on Saturday, March 28, in the Executive Office Building cafeteria, 101 Monroe Street in Rockville from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Music will be performed by area bands and a local disc jockey. Bands scheduled to compete for prizes include Brass Ryot, Falling F8, Gray Haven, Makeshift, Session, Sonorous, Steamy Cleveland and The Thuding Monitor Band.

The event is open to all Montgomery County students in grades 9 through 12. Admission is $5, or $4 with a canned food donation.

Space is limited and reservations are recommended by calling 301-217-6090. Students requiring special assistance, including transportation, are encouraged to contact the Department of Recreation at 301-217-6090.

In addition to SADD, the event is being sponsored by the Montgomery County Youth Advisory Committee, the County departments of Recreation, Health and Human Services, and Public Works and Transportation; Mothers Against Drunk Driving; and the City of Rockville Department of Recreation and Parks.
