Duncan Seeks Applicants For
Library Board Vacancy
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill five vacancies on the Montgomery County Library Board. Four incumbents are eligible to apply for reappointment. One vacancy is for a partial term ending in September 2000.
The 12-member Advisory Board makes recommendations to the County Executive on matters affecting the public library systems, including the acquisition and location of new library facilities, the adequacy of book collections, services to outlying districts, and personnel needs of the Library Department. Members serve three-year terms without compensation. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in Rockville.
Applicants should write by May 1 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume should be enclosed. Work and home phone numbers should be included. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.
Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applicants of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
