Duncan Seeks Applicants
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill six vacancies on the Montgomery County Noise Control Advisory Board. Three full-term vacancies expire on September 30, 1999, two partial-term vacancies expire on September 30, 2000 and one partial-term vacancy expires on September 30, 2001. A recent bill expanded the Board from seven members to eleven members with staggered terms.
The eleven-member board reviews and makes recommendations to the director of the Department of Environmental Protection on the effectiveness of the County's noise control rules and regulations. Members generally serve three-year terms without compensation and meetings are held the second Monday of every other month in Rockville. Members are required to review related materials prior to meetings.
Applicants should be write by August 13 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume, including home and work phone numbers, should be included. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.
Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
