Pool Party Planned
For Middle School Students
Montgomery County middle school students are invited to a Pool Party to be held on November 19, from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Swim Center, 1201 Jackson Rd. in Silver Spring.
Admission is $2 and students must show their school or teen club ID or be accompanied by a parent.
Activities will include water volleyball and target diving. There will also be a deejay and video screens. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be sold.
Students may wear t-shirts over their suits, but are asked to bring towels and locks. Gym shorts and cut-offs are not allowed in the pool.
Students will be picked up at 8 p.m. and returned at 11 p.m. at the following locations in the Silver Spring area:
East County Community Center, 3310 Gateshead Manor Way; Rosemary Hills Community Center, 2431 Linden Lane; Silver Spring International Middle School, 313 Wayne Ave.; Longbranch Community Center, 8700 Piney Branch Rd.;and the Wheaton Community Center, 11711 Georgia Ave.
Registrations will be taken on a first come-first served basis. Forms may be submitted to local teen club centers or directors.
The Pool Party is sponsored by the Montgomery County Department of Recreation, the Youth Advisory Committee, and the Department of Police Silver Spring District, under a Hotspot Community grant.
