Montgomery County Hosts Last Y2K Town Meeting
On December 11 at the Rockville Executive Office Building

With the New Year approaching, it's a good time for citizens to learn more about how Year 2000 (Y2K) computer problems could affect them, and to prepare for any possible emergencies.

Montgomery County will host the last in its series of Y2K town meetings on Saturday, December 11 to offer residents and businesses an opportunity to learn more about potential Y2K problems and to offer useful emergency preparedness tips. The town meeting will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Executive Office Building, located at 101 Monroe St. in Rockville.

County officials and representatives from local utility companies will be on hand to discuss how the County is preparing for the so-called millennium bug, and to offer suggestions on how homeowners and businesses can be better prepared.

A question and answer session will follow the presentation. Light refreshments will be provided.

For directions to the town meeting or for more information, call the Montgomery County Y2K Office at 240-777-2940.
