Candidate Filing Deadline Approaches

The Board of Elections notes that the deadline for candidates to file for the 2000 Primary Election is Monday, December 27, 1999, at 9 p.m. The sole exception is delegates to the Democratic National Convention, who must file between January 3 and January 10, 2000.

Prospective candidates should note that the Elections Office will be closed on Friday, December 24, 1999, since the day has been designated as a County holiday for Christmas. The office will be open to accept candidate filings on Monday, December 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Primary Election is Tuesday, March 7, 2000.
