Photos of County Firefighters
To Be Featured in Exhibit at Corcoran Gallery
The men and women of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services will be featured in a photo exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., March 2 - 13. The exhibit, entitled "After the Fire," chronicles the work of Montgomery County firefighters and emergency medical services personnel. The images were captured by British photographer Steve Whystall.
Whystall, a Bachelor of Foreign Arts candidate in Photography at the Corcoran School of Art, spent six months accompanying the rescue workers during their daily routines.
The exhibit features 20 large color prints, which will be on display in the Hemicycle Gallery. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on March 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited.
The Corcoran Gallery of Art is located at 17th Street and New York Avenue, NW. Public parking is available, and the gallery is located within several blocks of the Farragut North Metro Station on the Red Line.
