Duncan Seeks Applicants For
Ethnic Affairs Committee

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is accepting applications for eight vacancies on the Committee for Ethnic Affairs. Seven incumbents are eligible to apply for reappointment.

The Committee serves as an advisory group to the County Executive, County Council, and the Office of Community Outreach about ethnic affairs. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. in Rockville.

Specific objectives of the Committee are to emphasize the linguistic and cultural diversity of the County: to identify special needs of the ethic community: and to promote maximum involvement of all ethnic groups in the County's government, business and community affairs.

Applicants should write by March 29 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 202850. A brief resume, with a description of interests, experience, club or community group affiliations and especially community activities should be included, along with the applicant's home and work telephone numbers. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.

Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of these selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
