Public Invited to Attend Presentation
on Urban Revitalization Efforts

The public is invited to attend a presentation on Manhattan's Bryant Park -- an award winning model for urban revitalization efforts. The event is scheduled for Thursday, March 11 at 3 p.m., at the Town Center Hotel, 8727 Colesville Road, Silver Spring.

The presentation will be made by Dan Biederman, president of Bryant Park Restoration Corporation in Manhattan. The revival of Bryant Park has been described by the Urban Land Institute as "a wisely planned and managed investment in open space that turned a disaster into an asset, dramatically improving the neighborhood." Some of the topics to be covered by Biederman include the history of the park's transformation, financing needed improvements and the role of commercial activity and programming.

The event is being cosponsored by the Silver Spring Regional Services Center; the Downtown Silver Spring Urban District; the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission; Potomac Valley Chapter, American Institute of Architects; and the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce.

Persons interested in attending should call the Silver Spring Regional Services Center to register, at 301-565-7300.
