Duncan Seeks Applicants
For Commission
On Children & Youth

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill nine vacancies, on Montgomery County's Commission on Children and Youth. Four vacancies are for agency representatives; four vacancies are for parent representatives, and one vacancy is for a private school representative. Seven incumbents are eligible to apply for reappointment.

The 27-member Commission advises the County Executive, County Council, Department of Health & Human Services and Board of Education on policies, programs and services which support children, youth and their families. Adult members serve three-year terms without compensation.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month (except August) in Rockville. Members will be expected to serve on committees of the Commission, and these meetings are held as needed.

Applicants should send a letter of interest no later than March 31 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland 20850. A brief resume, including home and work telephone numbers, should be enclosed. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.

Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
