DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR
MID-COUNTY ADVISORY BOARD             For Immediate Release  (March 8, l996)

     County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill two
unexpired terms on the Mid-County Citizens Advisory Board.  One term expires
in July 1997 and the other in July 1998.  
     The Board is comprised of l5 residents and business owners from the
Wheaton, Kensington, Aspen Hill, Veirs Mill Road, Glenmont, Kemp Mill, Forest
Glen, Olney, Brookeville and Sandy Spring areas.  Members serve three-year
terms without compensation.  Meetings are usually held the third Tuesday
evening of each month at the Mid-County Government Service Center.
     The Board serves as a liaison between the community, the County
Executive, County Council, and County government departments by identifying
community concerns and recommending possible solutions.  It also advises the
Director of the Mid-County Government Service Center on transportation,
economic development, housing, education, human services, environment,
recreation, public safety and other issues of importance to the area.
     Interested citizens should apply in writing by March 29 to County
Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, l0l Monroe St.,
Rockville, Md.  20850.  A brief resume, including work and home phone numbers
should be enclosed.  Members of County boards, committees and commissions may
not serve on more than one such group at a time.
     Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council.
Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the
confirmation process.
