PUBLISHES BOOK
ON DIVORCE COSTS For Immediate Release: March 6, 1996
Persons facing divorce proceedings can find information on working with
an attorney and how to navigate the legal process in a new book published by
the Montgomery County Commission for Women.
Entitled "Easing the Financial and Emotional Costs of Divorce," the book
is designed to help divorcing couples reduce the financial and emotional costs
of the experience for themselves and their children. Chapters One and Two
provide guidelines and information on the current Maryland law regarding
divorce.
Other chapters address the emotional upheaval caused by divorce and
include tips on how to work with an attorney and mediator while keeping costs
down. There is also a list of counseling services and support groups, in
addition to suggested reading on topics such as self-esteem, coping with
change, custody and parenting after divorce.
