 OFFICIALS TO DEDICATE
 16TH STREET BRIDGE 
 TO TRAIN WRECK VICTIMS,
 RESCUE WORKERS                         For Immediate Release: March 13, 1996
 
      
      The 16th Street bridge over the CSX tracks in Silver Spring will be
 dedicated to the victims and rescue workers from the February 16 train wreck
 in a public ceremony on March 19 at 9:45 a.m.
      Elected officials and representatives of government agencies will
 participate in the ceremony to be held on the bridge.  A plaque will be placed
 at the north end of the bridge in memory of the ll passengers and crew of MARC
 Train #286 who died in the crash and in honor of the hundreds who aided in the
 rescue efforts.
      The County will provide free shuttle bus service to the site from
 parking garage #7 at Cameron street and Ramsey Road from 9 to 9:40 a.m. and
 will return to the garage following the ceremony.
      Sixteenth Street will be closed between Second Avenue and Spring Street
 on the 19th from 9 to 11 a.m.
