VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
FOR TWO SCHOOL PROJECTS For Immediate Release: March 29, 1996
The Community Use of Schools office is recruiting volunteers for two
projects involving programs for students.
SATURDAY SCHOOL TUTORS
Volunteers are needed to assist at-risk students in grades four through
12 at E. Brooke Lee Middle School in Silver Spring. Activities, which are
held on Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., involve building self-esteem and
learning, leadership and other skills.
Volunteers should be able to commit to working at least one Saturday
each month. The program begins on March 30.
ENRICHMENT PROGRAM ASSISTANT
A volunteer is needed in the Community Use of Schools office to help
implement the After School Enrichment Program sponsored by the office. Duties
may include processing payments, filing, research, organizing data, making
phone calls and typing. The volunteer must be able to work at least one day a
week. The Community Use of Schools office is located in the County Council
Office Building, 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville.
