VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE NEARS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jan. 11, 1996
Montgomery County residents who wish to vote in the March 5, 1996
Presidential Primary Election are reminded that the deadline for voter
registration is 9 p.m. on February 5.
In order to become a registered voter, individuals must be U.S. citizens
and live in Montgomery County, and they must be at least 18 years of age on or
before November 5, 1996.
Special voter registration sites will be offered afternoons, from 1-5
p.m., and evenings, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., by The County's Board of
Supervisors of Elections starting January 25. The locations and times
include:
Gaithersburg Library, 18330 Montgomery Village Ave. -- during the
evenings of Jan. 25, Feb. 1 and Feb. 5; and the afternoons of Jan. 27 and
Feb. 3.
Olney Library, 3500 Olney-Laytonsville Road -- evenings on Jan. 24, Jan.
31 and Feb. 5; and afternoons on Jan. 27 and Feb.3.
Up-County Community Services Center, 12900 Middlebrook Rd, Germantown --
evenings on Jan. 25-26, Feb. 1-2, and Feb. 5; and afternoons on Jan. 27 and
Feb. 3.
Montgomery Mall, Bethesda -- evenings on Jan. 25-26, Feb. 1-2, and Feb.
5; and afternoons on Jan. 27 and Feb. 3.
Sears, White Oak -- evenings on Jan. 25-26, Feb. 1-2, and Feb. 5; and
afternoons on Jan. 27 and Feb. 3.

Wheaton Plaza -- evenings on Jan. 25-26, Feb. 1-2, and Feb. 5; and
afternoons on Jan. 27 and Feb. 3.
Board of Elections Offices, 751 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville -- weekdays
from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; on Saturday afternoons, Jan. 27 and Feb. 3; and
expanded evening hours to 9:00 p.m. on Feb. 5.
Applications for voter registration are also available at County
libraries, Community Service Centers, County Health Centers and the Social
Services offices at 5630 Fishers Lane in Rockville. Applications are also
available at the State's Motor Vehicle Administration offices at Gaithersburg,
Walnut Hill, and Glenmont, as well as at all U.S. Post Offices in the County.
