COUNTY TO HOST SEMINAR ON
ADAPTING TO ORGANIZATIONAL
CHANGE IN THE WORKPLACE                                    For Immediate Release: February 13, 1996 



         Local businesses and employees are invited to attend a free seminar on
adapting to organizational change in the workplace.  The seminar will be held
on Tuesday, February 27,from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Executive Office
Building lobby auditorium, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville.
         Charles L. Smith, Assistant Secretary for the American Workplace with
the U.S. Department of Labor, will discuss new efforts by the federal
government to encourage and support positive workplace change.  He will also
discuss how these changes impact careers and job advancement opportunities for
African American employees in the public and private sectors.  A panel
discussion on workplace issues, and exhibits and displays in conjunction with
Black History Month will be featured as part of the seminar.
         The program is sponsored by the Montgomery County Office of Human
Resources as part of its Workforce Diversity Management Initiative.
         Parking is available on the G-2 level garage underneath the building.
