PROGRAM MATCHES RESIDENTS
WITH FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE VOLUNTEERS   FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Jan. 12, 1996


     Montgomery County's Emergency Management office is coordinating a four-
wheel drive program to provide transportation during the blizzard for medical
personnel and residents such as kidney dialysis patients.
     Residents in need of such transportation, as well as those who have
four-wheel drive vehicles and would like to volunteer, should call 217-2470 or
217-4645. 
     During the blizzard this week, the four-wheel drive program has
responded to 1,500 telephone requests and provided 400 transports, with 55
volunteer drivers.
