ELECTION JUDGES NEEDED
FOR 1996 ELECTIONS            For Immediate Release:  January 25, 1996



     Montgomery County's Board of Supervisors of Elections is seeking
individuals to serve as election judges at polling places on Primary Election
Day, March 5, and General Election Day, November 5.
     In accordance with the Election Code, judges must be registered to vote
in Montgomery County as a Democrat or Republican.  They must also be able to
speak, read and write the English language, and while acting as a judge must
not hold or be a candidate for public or party office.
     The Board is currently seeking approximately 50 Democratic and 175
Republican election judges.  Additionally, alternates are needed throughout
the County.  Training will be provided and all judges will be compensated for
election day.
