  STORM RELIEF HELP LINE
ESTABLISHED FOR RESIDENTS For Immediate Release: Jan. 16, 1996

Help is available for Montgomery County residents encountering blizzard-
related problems through the Residents Storm Relief Help Line instituted today
  by the County.
       By calling 217-2470, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., citizens can receive
information and referrals for assistance with problems such as leaking roofs,
flooding and snow melt, clearing sidewalks, trash/recycling collections, snow
removal and public parking. Information will also be provided about Ride-On
  bus schedules and volunteer opportunities.
The line, staffed by personnel from the County's Department of Fire and
Rescue Services and Division of Emergency Management, will be in operation at
least through Friday, January 19. At that time, officials will evaluate the
  need to continue the line.
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan said, "While the storms which hit our
area last week brought specific challenges, many residents are now facing
another set of problems. The Storm Relief Help Line has been set up to assist
  citizens through the post-storm period."
