HOLDS BRIEFING ON RECOMMENDED
FY'97 OPERATING BUDGET             For Immediate Release:  March 11, 1996



     The public is invited to attend a March 20 briefing on County Executive
Douglas M. Duncan's recommended FY'97 operating budget for the Department of
Health and Human Services (HHS).  The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the
first floor auditorium of the Stella Werner Council Office Building, 100
Maryland Avenue, Rockville.
     The County Executive will present his recommendations on the operating
budget to the County Council on March 14.  
     The briefing, which will highlight recommended spending for the
department, beginning in July 1996, will be conducted by HHS Director Chuck
Short.
     Parking is available in the Council Office Building garage, located
behind the building at the intersection of Monroe and Fleet streets.
