HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR
MEMORIAL DAY                       For Immediate Release (May 23, 1996)


     Montgomery County government will observe the following holiday schedule
for Memorial Day on Monday, May 27:

     County Offices  -- closed
     Libraries -- closed 
     County liquor stores -- open with exception of Cloverly, Fenton,
               Grove, Montgomery Village, Olney, Twinbrook and White Oak  

     Ride-On -- Sunday schedule 

     Metrobus -- Sunday schedule 
              
     Metrorail -- Sunday schedule 

     Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters -- free

     Trash -- no collection

     Transfer Station --open

     BOE Administrative Offices and schools -- closed 

     Housing Opportunities Commission -- closed

     Social Services -- closed 
 
     State offices & courts -- closed
