DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS TO
FILL VACANCIES ON THE MARTIN
LUTHER KING COMMEMORATIVE COMMITTEE For Immediate Release (May 30, 1996)
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill a
number of vacancies on the Martin Luther King Commemorative Committee.
This committee advises the County Executive on plans for an annual
Montgomery County government program to observe the birthday of Martin Luther
King, Jr.; how to promote greater public awareness of the contributions of Dr.
King; and how to foster the ideals and goals which Dr. King espoused.
The County Executive will seek to ensure that the Committee membership
is broadly representative of persons of diverse social, cultural and economic
backgrounds in the County. Members serve two-year terms without compensation.
Meetings are held in Rockville on the first Monday evening of each month.
Applicants should write by June 21 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan
at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe St., Rockville, MD 20850. A
brief resume including home and work telephone numbers should be enclosed.
Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more
than one such group at a time.
