DUNCAN SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR
BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS For Immediate Release (March 21, 1996)
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill one
vacancy on the Montgomery County Board of License Commissioners. The board
consists of five members and not more than three can be from the same
political party. There are currently two Republicans and three Democrats on
the Board. The position to be filled is currently occupied and must be filled
by a Republican.
The board is responsible for issuing alcoholic beverage licenses, and
enforcing the alcoholic beverage laws of the State of Maryland and Montgomery
County. Meetings are held the first and third Thursday of each month from
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Rockville. Members are compensated at the rate of $9,000
per year.
Applicants should write by April 12 to County Executive Douglas M.
Duncan at the Executive Office Building, l0l Monroe Street, Rockville, MD
20850. A brief resume including home and work telephone numbers and political
affiliation should be included. Members of County boards, committees and
commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.
Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council.
Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the
confirmation process.
