Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will celebrate the start of construction of the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad (WVRS).  The public is invited to attend the ceremony.

The WVRS will move operations from their current station to the new facility in late 2013. The design and construction team includes Milestone Construction, the Penzance Companies and Hughes Group Architects.

Joining Leggett at the groundbreaking will be County Councilmember Phil Andrews, Fire Chief Richard R. Bowers, Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad President Tom Brown, Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad Chief Allan Platky and Department of General Services Director David Dise.

Note to Editors: The groundbreaking will be held rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, call 240-777-2474 for updates.

Note to Attendees: Appropriate footwear for an unpaved construction site suggested.
