*** Driver Training Relocation - New PSTA***

Effective November 21, 2016, all Driver Training Program activities and operations transitioned to the new Public Safety Training Academy in Gaithersburg, MD.  The Driver Training Program office is located in Room 211 of the main academic building.  See below for additional information related to the facility.

*** Revised Engine, Aerial, and Rescue Squad PAGS***

The Engine, Aerial, and Rescue Squad Practical Application Guide Sheets have been revised in an effort to correct editorial errors, more clearly identify critical failure points, and update formatting to current organizational standards.

There have been no material changes or additions to the minimum competencies.  If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Driver Training staff.

This course is two days in duration.  Candidates who complete this class will be given a crew packet to become a Boat Crew Member.

Seating preference is given to Candidates assigned to stations with boats.

  • This development is in 32's area (across from the Rio).
  • Currently, Co. 32 and 31 have the square tool needed to hand wheel the drive mechanism.

How the Form Works:
   The form is broken into 4 sections:
     1.   Competencies
     2.   Signature Checklist
     3.   Check Off Matrix
     4.   Driving Log
   Write the Unit ID, Stock #, Make, and Year of your target Aerial on Page 1
   Identify your check off requirements using the Check Off Matrix
   Complete the Competencies, Drive Time, and requirements outlined by the matrix
   Record your process on the form
   Submit the form with hard copies going to the distribution list
     outlined on the Signature Page.
