·          Boomer Volunteer Engagement- This valuable resource breaks down the basics of engaging and utilizing the baby boomer population within a volunteer organization. The website provides 14 downloadable PDF files from the book.

·          Foundation Center- organization that aims to support nonprofits with knowledge and information about U.S. philanthropy. Their main Center is located on K Street in DC, but they also have a Cooperating Collection at the Rockville Public Library which offers free access to the Foundation directory online, as well as other materials of interest to nonprofits, grantmakers and others. They offer classes at their DC Center, as well as online courses and webinars – some of which are completely free.  Phone: 202-331-1400.

·          Montgomery College- Montgomery College offers online courses on many aspects of nonprofit management and grant writing. Classes start monthly and are very affordable – approx $100 per course.  Adults over 65 MAY be eligible for tuition waivers for specific courses. ·          Maryland Association of Nonprofits- Offers trainings (both paid and free), networking, advocacy and other resources. Their main office is in DC, but they have a Montgomery County location in Silver Spring. Phone 301-365-0505. www.marylandnonprofits.org

·          Center for Nonprofit Advancement- Offers comprehensive workshops for the nonprofit community year-round on core management issues. Phone 202-457-0540

·          Nonprofit Risk Management Institute- Offers a free newsletter, online resources (some free) and classes on all aspects of risk management/liability. Phone 202-785-3891

·          ServiceLeader.org- A project of the RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs of the University of Texas at Austin, provides information on all aspects of volunteerism. They offer a wealth of free resources on volunteer management, recruitment and best practices. Also has information about Virtual Volunteering, a new facet of volunteering where volunteer work is done through the internet.

·          Maryland Council of Directors of Volunteer Services- Organization that works to promote and strengthen the field of volunteer administration and the skills of volunteer management professionals through collaboration, support, education, and leadership development. Membership is open to all nonprofit volunteer coordinators and other professionals who work directly with volunteers; $40 membership fee to join. Members meet quarterly and represent a diverse mix of fields of the non-profit world.
