Daniels (left) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Johns Hopkins University's Montgomery County campus. The MOU reflects Montgomery County’s and Johns Hopkins’ shared objectives and vision of advancing the biosciences industry, higher education and workforce development within the county. | Dr. Joanne Irving, Principal of the Chrysalis Group, led a lively discussion at the February 18 session of the Business Coaches Roundtable Series. Her topic, “Action Learning,” examined the method of choice of many major corporations to improve quality, cut costs, create new products and services, and change organizational cultures. Sponsored by the Department of Economic Development, the Business Coaches Roundtable Series is a service offered by business coaches located in Montgomery County for local small businesses during these difficult economic times. | On February 18, Katie Knowlin, Director of the Division of Business Empowerment of the Department of Economic Development, and Kenneth Taylor, Manager of the Office of Business Relations and Compliance of the Department of General Services, presented resource and contract information at the monthly luncheon of the Women Business Owners of Montgomery County. The organization is a volunteer networking organization that represents a wide variety of women owned companies, independent businesses, and not-for-profit service organizations. |
