Donations

The Volunteer Center’s Donations Hotlink program provides an easy method for donations of good and/or services to be made available to the our registered organizations.

The Donations Hotlink is a weekly e-mail sent (typically on Wednesday) to designated representatives of our registered organizations. The list is “refreshed” each week.

If there is a donation on the list that is of interest to an organization, a representative will contact the donor directly to get more details and arrange for pick-up.

All donations must be picked up by a representative of the organization. Clients should not contact donors or pick-up donations.

Organizations are required to provide the donor with a receipt acknowledging the donation. The receipt should be printed on the organization’s letterhead and include their tax exempt number.

If you are interested in listing item(s) on our Donations Hotlink, send an e-mail to volunteer@montgomerycountymd.gov.

Your e-mail should contain:

  • a brief description of the donation;
  • the condition (only items in excellent to good condition, please);
  • the city where the donation will be picked up, and
  • how the donor would like to contacted (via phone or e-mail). «

« If you prefer the organization contact you via e-mail, please still include your phone number in the e-mail. We will not include your phone number in the list. You’re phone will be for the Volunteer Center’s information only.

Or you can call the Volunteer Center at 240-777-2600 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and provide us with the information.

It’s through your generosity that we are able to offer this valuable resource to our organizations and we thank you for your support.
