FEE CATEGORIES OF COMMUNITY USE ACTIVITIES

Category A

  • K-12 and extracurricular school activities, including booster clubs
  • Adult Ed non-fee ESOL classes ( Montgomery College )
  • PTA general monthly meetings
  • MCPS offices
Category B
  • MCPS partnerships with government agencies
  • Public recreation classes, summer camps and activities (Montgomery County Recreation Department & municipal recreation departments of Takoma Park , Rockville , Gaithersburg )
  • City, county, state and other government agency meetings/programs
  • Child care - school year contract for "before and after" care
  • MCPS Adult Education fee classes
  • MCCPTA fee classes (FLES, Hands-on-Science, and Group Piano)
  • Commercial enterprises donating goods and services - no monetary donations/offers accepted
  • MCPS PTA activities/fundraisers - no commercial entities involved (e.g. sock hops, non-monetary bingo, international night)
Category C
  • Non-Public sector youth recreational and educational activities (e.g. Boys & Girls Clubs, athletic associations)
  • Community and civic association meetings and non-fee activities (HOAs, garden clubs)
  • Community sponsored classes
  • Adult sports and recreation
  • Cultural and religious classes and services (no celebrations or special events)
  • Childcare outside of school year contract (i.e., evening events, meetings)
Category D
  • Summer camps, clinics and other activities of a programmatic nature not sponsored by public recreation agencies (e.g. camps, arts camps, chess clinics, school-break camps)
  • MCPS partnerships with commercial entities (e.g. SAT prep classes, academic enrichment classes) (form submitted by MCPS)
  • PTA partnerships with commercial entities with no promotion of the commercial entity, such as fairs/festivals, holiday bazaar or shopping nights, family portraits, restaurants & food vendors (form submitted by PTA)
Category E
  • Youth and adult sports tournaments (e.g. step, volleyball, cheerleading, pom competitions), must have Security Staff
  • Non-MCPS fundraisers (e.g. yard and garden sales)
  • Community/religious/cultural special events with any admission fee, advanced participant reservations, donation, membership dues or ticket sales or requiring special consideration for placement or timeliness of notification (e.g. revivals, High Holidays, holiday and New Year's celebrations, cultural concerts). A special event is any event outside the normal worship service, e.g., churches that book weekly and then want to hold a Mother's Day program or Christmas program will be charged the special event rate.

  • Business or corporate activities/events
