Project
Description:
This
project is Phase II of
a two step project to improve the Brookville Service Park to meet the
increasing
needs of Transit Services, Operations and Highway Maintenance for the
County. Part II reconfigures the existing highway depot on the site and
constructs a new 26,000 square-foot administration maintenance building
in place of two existing buildings. A new fuel station and
forty-six (46)
covered storage bays and eight (8) material storage bays will also be
constructed. The existing fuel station will be demolished and a new
fuel station with a canopy will be constructed. The station will
dispense
gasoline, diesel and ethanol (E85) fuel. The ethanol pumps
will be available for public use similar to the County fuel station on
Crabbs Branch Way.
Part I constructed on
expanded
bus parking lot and a new access road on the north side of the complex
to
improve traffic circulation, site operational efficiency, and
pedestrian safety.

One is substantially complete.
Construction started on July 13, 2009. A new fuel station is complete
and started service on August 9, 2010. Demolition of the old fuel
station, including removal of underground tanks and contaminated soil,
is 100% complete. Construction of the new building is complete. Use and
Occupancy was issued by DPS on October 1st, 2010. Moving of County
staff into the Administration office facility is 100% complete.
Phase
Two work commenced on March 21, 2011.
Demolition of building B is 100% complete. Foundation
construction of canopy/ rolling stock storage slips work is
underway. Contactor is mobilizing to erect steel. Road work is 99%
complete. The contractor is currently working on punch list. .
