CENSUS 2010 IS COMING!
"It’s Easy, It’s Important, It’s Safe." Spending just a few minutes to fill out your census form will help ensure your community gets its fair share of federal and state funding. And, data about changes in your community are crucial to many planning decisions, such as where to provide services for the elderly, where to build new roads and schools, or where to locate job training centers. The Mid-County Regional Center has partnered with Census 2010 to help spread the word about importance of filling out the Census form. U.S. Census Day is April 1, 2010.You can help by "taking the pledge" to spread the word that everyone counts and everyone needs to be counted.

Plan for Success
The Montgomery County Women’s Bar Foundation is sponsoring its 9th annual “Preparing for Success” Fall Forum on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Montgomery College, Rockville Campus (51 Mannakee Street, Rockville, MD 20850). Registration is in the Theatre Arts Building.The program has won three awards, from the Maryland State Bar Association for “Best Service to the Public Project Award,” from the Montgomery County Bar Association and from the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations for their 2009 “Public Service Award.” This program is free of charge and open to high school students in public, private and alternative schools, as well as girls in independent living programs. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. The day will conclude with a “Right Look” fashion show. Free bus transportation will be provided from the following schools: Gaithersburg HS, Watkins Mill HS, Quince Orchard HS, Montgomery Blair HS, Einstein HS, Paint Branch HS and Blake HS.
